Re: Some negatkve values

How can length be negative? If I have a 1m ribbon pointing North form where I stand and I try reducing its length by 2m then it's not -1m but still 1m long just pointing South.

Challenge Difficulties

With the new labels for difficulties coming in the beta version there's a new level past Very Difficult/Mad Scientist called Superhuman AI. And while we now have raised the bar with that there is still some granularity missing with PhD/Difficult providing quite a range of challenges being more or le...

Re: Tested challenges and tutorial

I think that topic deserves it's own thread ;) Yes, I agree that a level between Undergrad and PhD would make sense and while I've suggested some names for such new difficulty none really would stick.

Re: 42: population bottleneck

Gametes are cells that can fuse with each other to create offspring. When they fuse they will each bring their own genome into the fusion resulting in a random combination of these 2 genomes for the new child. Let's say you have a swimmer with the cells 1, 2 and 3 with 3 being a Gamete and another s...

Re: 55: Digestion III

Accuracy increases the closer the sensing cell is to the cell that processes the source of the sensing cell's stimulus. For a normal Kite Swimmer that'd be the Stereocyte and the Phagocyte. in Digestion III, however, the processing cell is not the Phagocyte because you are searching for coated food ...

Re: 42: population bottleneck

The description in the challenge explains nicely what's needed here :) Basically you want to create a Gamete swimmer that is compatible with the one on the substrate and provides the optimization needed to get the organism above the threshold. It's an Undergrad difficulty challenge, so don't overthi...

Re: Lets talk about Ciliocytes

There's challenges where you can use Ciliocytes for different purposes :) They can move mobile food chunks towards your Phagocyte or cling to other cells to create movement for your own organism.

Re: Manual value change

So far Petter's response to this request was, that it can easily get too cluttery and even harder to understand for new players.
