Re: Smart prey/predator substrate

Notes: these swimmers DO beat dumb swimmers if the conditions are correct. Additionally, on low nutrient rate but high salinity they outdo protected dumb swimmers EVEN with the predators present, as the balance can be kept on conditions where protected dumb swimmers couldn't even survive on their ow...

Smart prey/predator substrate

Eggs are overpowered. Why? I figured the best way to allow a prey to avoid being cleaned, is to give them a safety tool. This can be an area that predators don't reach, or a protected egg which when a wave of hungry predators appear will persist, and hatch once they are gone. So, I made a substrate...

It seems the cold war is here and a biological nuclear missile is in the works. Pretty fun design btw

Re: Mutations favoring extinction over intelligence

I guess I should have [sarcasm][\sarcasm] tags to my text  I should remind @everyone that I am autistic and have Asperger's, so :| First, no matter what condition you have, you should at least be able to have some kind of respect for other human beings and realise that they are more experience...

Re: Ocellocyte concept

Might seem like a troublesome idea at first, but linear detection would open up a lot of possibilities to make up for the strong flaws of stereocytes and senseocytes. For example we can have them activate the main flagellocytes whenever it spots nutrients in front of it. The light-based sensitivity ...

Re: Mutations favoring extinction over intelligence

That's simply not how natural selection works. No matter how much you want it. If you smart with a smart swimmer in an environment favoring smart over dumb swimmers you will never see the smart swimmer successfully mutating into a dumb one because the smart one is more efficient here. Vice versa on...

Re: Mutations favoring extinction over intelligence

Yeah that might be it. Good idea Maybe it is already that way right? No, and this is the problem. Too many steps required. 1. Swimming cell becomes programmable 2. Swimming cell is programmed 3. Detector cell created 4. Detector cell programmed 4 steps of which several must happen at once. If mutat...

Re: Mutations favoring extinction over intelligence

It would make it less intuitive to new players though (unless those options in the genome are locked at the begining like other settings. I'm starting to like this idea) . I mean, mutation force unticks snap values. Maybe it should use the same for cell state programmation, by forcing it to become ...

Re: Mutations favoring extinction over intelligence

Asking for radiation not to kill is simply not realistic. Just let radiation be what it is. Though radiation does need changes, a stereocyte without the ability to emit any form of substance isn't a stereocyte but quite literally a normal cell with no ability whatsoever. I find it fairly crucial th...

Re: Calciocyte(Bone cell) concept

Cells with hollow insides! A must for someone like me. I really love creating swallowers. Cells that swallow other cells or food and slowly digest them. (Maximizing how long it can survive of of food. Btw they were referring to entire organisms, not just cells with that, the cell itself won't be ho...
