Experiment: How much does Adhesin Stiffness matter?

In this experiment, I designed a linear smart swimmer and placed it into two identical substrates. However, on one substrate, I set the adhesin stiffness for all modes to maximum, and set it to zero for all modes on the other. I let both substrates run for 300h. Results: The swimmers with maximum a...

Experiment: can SoilMakers sustain smart swimmers?

Eu Sou A Fazenda has claimed that his SoilMakers can sustain life, and to be honest I was a little skeptical at first. However, I placed one in a substrate with my most efficient smart swimmer, and the result ended my doubts. The substrate below has no nutrients, just max light and one SoilMaker. ht...

It's E.S.A.F.'s trademark organism, a photocyte that spits out keratinocytes. Look at his profile picture.

Disadvantage

https://www.dropbox.com/s/a9ekikney7omanh/Prey%20Trial.substrate?dl=0 This substrate is filled with the eggs of some very powerful predators and is low on nutrients. Your objective is to design a species that multiplies to 500 cells and kills all the initial cells. Easy challenge, right? Oh, wait, I...

Nice, I tried to make one but they ended up all deformed.

New predator format

Nothing groundbreaking here, just my new favorite layout for predators. These are quick and can take down the biggest, fastest prey.

Prototype Neurocyte Brain

I've seen smart swimmers with neurocyte brains before and I was perplexed by how they work. Today I had some time to kill so I decided to try and make my own. The example in the substrate below has two senseocytes and one neurocyte, it does not use stereocytes. Both senseocytes detect food, but one ...

tettigonia viridissima, Great Green Bush Cricket. It's an Insect Species, my favorite one. Spent years in the bush in Ukraine hunting these, I'm an insect collector. Check my signature.
