Most of the devourocytes have high nutrient priority, so just using gluocytes won't work. A protected devourocyte can eat an unprotected one, but the viscosity keeps them from sticking together long enough. Not really. You have to program a cell to do the functions of two modes. 90/10 splits could satisfy your needs. All you need is a well-thought split tree to enable the organism to live, like when to make the organism split to Phagocyte and such. With all 40 modes, I think that's more than enough to ...
