Hi, since I installed the beta I can't see the virus option "copy to" here is how it appears:

Re: Cell ability - Apoptosis!

Actually guys, apoptosis is the choice of a cell, when (in a multicelular organism) 1 cell is infected it will comit suicide to prevent infections of other cells, apoptosis might be caused by an hormone (in the game) like when the hormone is up of 1 arbitrary threshold the cell will simply die. That...

Re: Some biological insight

So, basicly, there are 2 options: 1- Making a selectable button (like "Make adhesine") "Division mode" Mitosis/Meiosis, and they would have different mutational rates, selected in the substracte options. 2- Make the mutations happen when 2 gametes fuse together, and add that motation rate at the sub...

Some biological insight

Hi everyone, I've been away from cell lab for a few months due to college... but I came back a couple weeks ago. I was sad that the gametocytes weren't released yet for the public (as I was until 5 min ago ahah, I didn't know everyone could join the beta testing until that time). I've read some of t...

Re: Gametes, Genotype, Phenotype

Just to make things clear, this won't be exacly the same as increasing the gene pool, because if u pass from 100 cells to 200 cells you would have more gene pool maybe, but they were all under selection so there was little room for mutation that might change the organism, entirely, because without u...

Re: Gametes, Genotype, Phenotype

Yes. I was referring to the same things when I said unexpressed modes would create more stability and efficiency for optimization in evolution. That's a good thing, but how much more stability and efficiency might be small, and my sense is that it would be equivalent to having a larger population o...

Re: Gametes, Genotype, Phenotype

So, through the day I was thinking of it, and the advantage of having unexpressed modes is huge, but it's so obvious that I actually didn't meantion it and didn't even remember to do so, my bad ahahah. The best thing about this "silenced modes" is the same that happens in nature with genes that get ...

Re: Gametes, Genotype, Phenotype

It should be possible with existing mechanisms to get selective or conditional gamete fusion. With respect to unexpressed modes, I'd say the question is: does it make larger scale processes significantly different or better? besides the advantages that we already anounce here, and the possibility f...

Re: Gametes, Genotype, Phenotype

Other thing about gametocites and how they fuse, if we have 2 very diferent species that use gametocites fusing the outcome can be pretty catastrofic, resulting no probabli a bunch of cells not doing anything really, that happens in nature too, but nature has a tecnic to stop that, "selected mating"...

Re: Gametes, Genotype, Phenotype

I made just 1 slight variation where from the 4 homozigots, they get picked 2 at random. So those 2 could be from one parent too, not neccesarily 1 from each. I used this thecnic too, it migh have scaped your eye, but yes! It is important that u say it again because that's what, actually, brings ac...
