Re: Tips, tricks and settings for random evolution

This is an interesting topic, might warrant its own page in the wiki. I find it very useful to limit the number of cell types, perhaps some view that as cheating. A swimmer is evolved pretty quickly with just flagellocyte and phagocyte enabled. Every extra mode enabled makes it take a lot longer. I...

Re: Suggestion: water current

That would probably mean they could push against their surroundings and move like flagellocytes. And even if they didn't people would find a way to do that (just like with the gametocyte drive).

Re: conditions to multicellular organisms

Having gravity and density affect food could be pretty interesting.

Tips, tricks and settings for random evolution

Today I got lucky and from random cells and radiation I evolved some simple swimming oeganisms. They didn't last long though. A while back I was also experimenting with mutation of floating plants. I made a simple floater with a photocyte and a buoycyte and just by random chance (and some tweaking) ...

You can send on information through a string of Neurocytes. See the challenge Nervous.
Oooh, I see. I remember completing it some time ago but never got around figuring out how the signal transmission works.

Re: Secrocyte signalling

If we had secrocytes that receive and secrete substances based on signals from other cells we could build very simple central neural systems. Basically make synapses that send signals to other parts of more complicated organisms with senses in the front and muscles and flagellocytes all over the body.

Something about nutrient priority I don't understand

So imagine this: two simple organisms. One is a gluocyte and the other is a photocyte. Gluocyte with very high nutrient priority attaches to the photocyte but instead of growing and killing (by stealing all the nutrients) the photocyte it shrinks. Why is that?

Re: Unofficial Forum Chat

Ummm... Why did I just get a notification for this thread? Anyway, about the brain thing: it depends on what you want to do. If you want to have an organism that either constantly sends a signal or oscillates use a neurocyte. If you want a left-right differentiation use a stereocyte (good for organi...

Yeah, suicide I'm doing with my Stomach Swimmer utilizing the new Max Connection functionality.
Either that or minimize nutrient priority and untick the "Prioritize" check box.

Re: 3 sugestions

Pretty sure you can do the cell suicide and cell connection thing fairly easily. Unless there's some situation I haven't experienced or thought of yet.
