Re: Cell angle instead of child angle

What you suggest is not simply moving the slider to the settings of a different mode, it changes the cell splitting mechanics to be quite different from what it is now, many organisms would not be possible to make anymore. What if M1 and M2 both have M3 as a child? Right now the two M3 could have d...

Re: Make programmable cells easier to mutate.

No no. I get your point alright. Just explained how my virus worked and why it overpowered yours. EDIT : Mistyped words removed. Cool. But it's nothing hard to do as it happens in my substrate all the time just by random chance. Still feeling happy for you. That's still some sort of achievement, I ...

Re: Make programmable cells easier to mutate.

Your organism uses few and scattered modes. I fully used almost all of the modes in my virus. Only modes 36 to 40 are safe from infection. Other modes? Well, I have already made my virus adapt to that. (Not one organism but one genome capable of infecting modes 1 to 35. It's impossible to only use ...

Re: Make programmable cells easier to mutate.

I infected his 'Alien' with a stronger and smarter breed of virus. Wiped out the species immediately. I'd like to see that. But then I wouldn't be surprised. It happens a lot in the substrate. The point is the organism stays more or less the same (only changes its body plan from time to t...

Re: Make programmable cells easier to mutate.

That is not what I mean. Oh, ok. I reread your last post. But imagine this: you set the radiation to mess with only a couple of modes. Let's say the first five. Also, let's say the first three are cruicial for the organism to grow properly and reach maturity. Now, if one of these 3 modes gets screw...

I thought that I already wrote this, but seems like I didn't. Gyroscopes are not able to rotate anything by itself. On the contrary, it is supposed to keep things in the same orientation.
So I guess the word that should be used is "reaction wheel" like the ones in spacecraft.

Then perhaps make it so that mutations only use the modes that are actually used by a genome rather than simply mutating a mode that is never going to be used.
You can do that too. Just uncheck all the other cell types in the plate settings tab.

Re: Ciliocyte

I agree. It's not like the cell is terrible but I really struggle to find any uses for cilliocytes as they are right now. Having them crawl in dry environments would be a pretty good alternative for the crawlers and flagellocytes.

That would literally mean uploading all your progress the Dropbox, and potentially giving it to everyone.
True. But then you can also upload solutions to all challenges and that's pretty much the same thing except multiple files instead of one.
