Here we remember old challenge discussions that got purged in the great forum cleanup of 2018.

The color you choose -- black, yellow... -- doesn't matter. It detects all RGB settings.

Actually it does since my swimmers usually bump into them several times and stick around. Although I think it's the quantity of them that triggers them.

Got the same here as i thought the quantity triggered it too

Yes, few cells very close create the same amount of signal substance as many cells a little farther away.

Nah it's that they "smell" colors.
Weird but it's how it works

The amount of signal substance that the Senseocyte produces depends on the number, distance, and size of cells. With R,G,B each at .50 and high color threshold over 1, the amount of substance will be the same regardless of what colors you are using.

Yeah, what I meant was that they cause the Senseocyte to produce the same amount. Of course, they don't produce it themselves :-)

Any suggestions on an intended solution? I get totally lost once advanced programming cells get involved. It's been too long since I've had to work with such concepts. D:

This challenge gave me a lot of trouble. You probably want a swimming organism that can both seek food, and avoid the green cells. If you've come this far in the game, you can probably figure out the basic cell types you'll need, but this challenge requires some fine-tuning to hit the cell count goal. For me, the hard part was getting the "avoid green" signal to be significantly stronger than the "look for food" signal. If you're using a stereocyte to control other cells, those cells should be directly connected to the stereocyte to get the strongest possible signal. If they're 1 or 2 cells away, the signal will be much weaker.
