Paleogenetics.

This can be solved by making a basic swimmer, no gametes needed. This should be fixed, somehow.

Thanks for reporting, I could reproduce it too. I'm considering adding a time limit and perhaps some more predators.

I can confirm, simple flagello/phago swimmer can easily push cell count to 500 and complete it.

A plain M1 phagocyte with minimum split mass can beat it as well, if you place all 5 starting cells.

Not sure how to prevent that except disallow phagocytes...?

You could set a limit to User Cells to like 50 or say 500 Initial+Hybrid Cells.

I'd like that better than a time limit.

Or, simply make it "Initial Cells" and not "Total Cells"

I agree. Though I'm lucky I found this, i hadn't beaten the challenge before I discovered this.

Initial cells doesn't work, because Hybrid cells (fused genome of initial and user cells) are not consideree the same.
