There's a simpler way to do it.

Mode 1: Lipocyte, split mass 0.77, split angle 45, splits into child modes 2, 2
Mode 2: Photocyte, split mass 2.92, split angle 90, splits into child modes 1, 1

both:
max adhesion strength
max nutrient priority

Right triangles!!! :) Nice. Is it possible to do a Sierpinski tessellation with them?

I can get a pattern started with a base of three cells, but the three aren't perfectly symmetric. Here are two results, 1536 cells each (3 times 2^9)

Nothing particularly special about this, I'm just surprised the thing didn't rip apart or end up with overlapping / criss-crossed adhesins.

Been trying to tessellate right triangles in one way or another -- mostly by taking the first pattern below and turning one of the triangles so that the hypotenuse vertical. I wouldn't have thought it would be too difficult, and... I would be wrong. ;) The turned triangle gets bunched up, or splits apart. Below, it gets pulled apart into a square and two triangles that are exactly the right size and position... so close. The genome for that one is below if you want to work with it. It can also get torn two triangles and a pentagon. Except for the first image, they are 1536 cells each (3 times 2^9)

I've had a fish made of 3 triangles, didn't take a picture though. Have t see if I can recreate it ;)
