Smart Predator, Smart Prey - Video

Post your creations here. It can be either a cool genome or an interesting ecosystem. Indicate if you designed it yourself or if it was created through evolution, or both :). File, picture, or video is required.

Yes, fleeing is prioritized over food in my species a bit. It's simply a matter of making the Output for the color Stereocyte higher than the food Stereocyte.

I wouldn't necessarily say that either species is optimized for this scenario. They are definitely strong species. For this experiment, I basically went with the first good match-up that I got.

Also, if you want even stronger fleeing impulse you can go for 2 Stereocytes for fleeing against 1 for food. That doubles the fleeing impulse.

Now got to watch the video. Great work :) And nice comments ;)

Reminded me of a substrate I have: https://www.dropbox.com/s/q2825c9z4dudr ... trate?dl=0

Same principles, but yours looks much better than this one. I went for slow movement and ended up with excessive food supply for the predator and the prey barely avoiding being eaten. So kudos to you, my friend :)

Yep, same principles. It seems like a fairly stable equilibrium.

Yes, it is stable. Just not that visually appealing, which is why I consider yours the better one :)

@Alast - Is there a noticeable difference between two Stereos without Output x and one Stereo with Output 2x? Assuming that x is 15 or less -- that much Output shouldn't be necessary.

As far as I remember it's pretty much the same except that the to Steros obviously don't have the exact same distance to the stimulus so their output varies, but to a neglectible amount. So yes, it only matters if you want a total output greater than 30.

interesting, both of you, but is it really more efficient two flagellocytes than one myocyte one flagellocyte? or it was just simpler to design?

It was actually much much harder to develop in the first place. But this design is just so much more efficient and versatile it's almost scary.

The two Flagellocyte organism is much, much more efficient.
