I've seen smart swimmers with neurocyte brains before and I was perplexed by how they work. Today I had some time to kill so I decided to try and make my own.
The example in the substrate below has two senseocytes and one neurocyte, it does not use stereocytes. Both senseocytes detect food, but one produces a weak positive S1 signal and the other a weak negative S1 signal. The neurocyte uses the a,b,c function where c=0 to produce either a positive or negative S2 signal that tells the flagellocytes to turn.
It also uses hidden flagellocyte technology.
