Yellyfish

(Yellyfish is just another name I gave to jellyfish.)

Hello again, Emera here.

I have posted a substrate full of what I called 'jellyfish'.
After that, I've tried to make a organism that would act like a jellyfish as what I have made before, but have more stages between each.

So I came up with this design.

1.Spore

This is the first state of the organism.
It will drop down to the bottom slowly until it finds the floor.
It will slowly degrade and die if it doesn't reach the floor in time.

2.Polyp

Polyp state is achieved when spore gets activated getting close to the floor.
This state is rather short compare to the others.

3.Budding Polyp

The Polyp starts to produce chains of early Emphyra.
It will continuously produce a line of early Emphyra until the base dies.

4.Emphyra

The state which just got seperated from the Polyp.
This state is quite short.

5.Medusa

The Adult.
This is the mature state and will stay in this state until it dies.
It'll produce 2 new spores every now and then.

Caution:
(
This organism is very fragile.
Extreme environment manipulation will kill this organism.

This organism is built so that it'll self eliminate if there is any damage on the main body.

There might be some early Emphyra on the floor.
This is due to the self elimination system, and it will kill itself overtime, or make it to the Emphyra state.

I'll recommend to someone who would like to modify this gene to understand each stage enough for safe modification.

Those are beautiful! Such a rich life cycle, with spores making polyps to spawn medusas and make more spores. I like how you used edge sensing in the spore, so it knows when to become a polyp and stick to the edge.

Maybe an added heavy buoycyte cell in the spore would help it have a better chance of reaching the edge before dying?

The oscillating up and down movement of the medusas is fun to watch, and their wavy arms gives them the illusion of being almost intelligent.

Great that you liked it!

In fact, I have thought to put heavy buoyocyte on the spore,
but I just liked the number of survival without it.
(But of course! You can modify it as you want.)

I think I've put second most time in this after the multi cellular plant. :>

So I really appreciate taht you liked it!

(Maybe we need to start a event about making similar organism from the real life into cell lab more often.
