Pretty simple, organism lives inside armored bubble. What surprised me was how the egg just pushes itself through the armor- didn't plan to do that. Sometimes, the egg fails to do this and ruptures the armor. This doesn't kill the organism but leaves it very vulnerable.

It's pretty invincible against standard predators once fully grown- the only weakness is the egg, which can be used to infect the keratinocytes.
