Aaah, I see now, it's not one single but multiple organisms arranged in the right way. Clever :)

If you incubate it you'll see how the system works. You'll notice a 10-count interval before the same sensor lights up. The sensors light up consecutively after a certain color is shown. Really smart way of using multiple colors for different types of stimulus.

You can use insulation cells to make a single organism.

Makes me want to try to build one from a single genome only inserting one cell.

Wow, really impressive work! Creative use of the neurocytes in the corners, wouldn't lipocytes work though?
