Sleep seems to break challenges

Post by MaxLittlemore » Sat Nov 07, 2015 1:27 pm

First post here, so let me start by saying how happy I am to have such a time waster. Really good stuff.

I was just doing challenge 30 (tip the balance) and my phone went to sleep. I had inserted about 5 cells.

When I got back to the petre dish, I could see my own creation thriving. When I went to the tab for the challenge, it told me 0 cells inserted.

I'm wondering if this is a bug where you might have forgotten to store global information for the context?

I haven't pushed to see if I can use that to win, I want to solve the puzzle :)

I just tested it and can confirm. Trying right now to narrow it down. It's hard to reproduce the error a second time.

this might will be solved in the next update, though isn´t a great bug, but a lot of challenges, are solved with a lot of time, i solved "tip the balance" with just 1 cell inserted, but i let the petri dish running for an hour [real time] until my genome solved the challenge, it wasn´t a great solution, but i wasn´t having any bug then

Hi Petter,
I suggest you to put something to record instead of trying to reproduce the bug, cause I tried with 8 hours and didn't work (I really don't know how much sleeps this dude  ) but anyway, I don't know if you have other easier ways to reproduce the bug, good luck

What do you mean by record? I think I was able to reproduce this bug, though I need to rotate the screen as well, but this might be handled differently on different phones.

Hmm, lemme try getting those "bonus cells", I'd like to see if I could do it. :P

I have a Samsung S5 with newest Android. No screen rotating was needed for the cell count reset. Hope that helps a bit :)
