Fluorocyte, Darkness suggestion

Introducing, the Fluorocyte!
Image
The fluorocyte is a new cell type I thought up randomly. The fluorocyte is a cell that produces light by itself (fixed value) or with a signal substance. The sliders will be Emitting strength, Red, Green, Blue.
If the light emitted by the fluorocyte matches the color of another cell exactly it will show up as nothing, like a disguise.
The light produced by the fluorocyte can be used by a photocyte, but a photocyte running off bioluminescence produces FAR less nutrients. Light is useful for darkness (which I will get to now).

Darkness will be a substrate setting. Darkness will limit the senseocyte's ability to detect food smell, color, etc. Senseocytes can detect the fluorocytes light, with a bioluminescence setting. This setting can be used to lure light consuming organisms to a predator, like an angler fish.
I really hope you consider adding this.

I made this cell because I thought it could make things a little more interesting and complex. It could open more possibilities. After all, that's what cell lab is all about.

After Gametes this kind of cell might be the most suggested one :-)

If something like this is ever implemented it would have to come with a serious change for the Photocytes and then all cells.

Because the Photocyte is the cell that uses the most energy.. and to balance that with a cell that can produce light would be hard.

If you make it so a bioluminescent cell could just feed and maintain a Photocyte then you could connect it to one Photocyte and have infinite energy..

And I'd you do it less... Then you have a cell that ultimately is not useful for feeding a Photocyte and needs another source of energy, moving the problem one step ahead.
A cell that can change colors to fool a detecting cell is interesting

That should actually be an easy fix. The cell just needs to consume more energy than it emits in light.

Or give the secrocyte the ability to produce 'light' (not edible, sorry photocytes) which could attract light seeking cells. I now have a picture of a black background with a small source of light, and darkened organisms heading to their doom

In beta, secrocyte can secrete sunlight smell ( light sense activator). Is that what you mean?

guys the cell produces not enough to power a photocyte and consumes nutrients to make it
and a secrocyte producing light would totally be against its nature. "secrete" means to produce and discharge a SUBSTANCE

It secretes a substance made to imitate light. And yes that is what I meant with the secrocyte. Now all we need is a way to is sense light, and a say to create spots of light

Sensocyte and stereocyte can sense light.
