Neurocyte simulator

Post by Nirahiel » Fri Dec 18, 2015 12:02 pm

Hey guys, i wanted to see what happened with the values S1 to S4 in the neurocyte, so I made a small simulator.
I'm still not 100% sure about the behaviour of this cell, and I don't know how the S's are supposed to decay when left untouched (so mines jump to 0 if not emitted), but you can get a quick idea on how and why the presets work.

If you don't know what to do, just press "Run" :3

Wow, this is awesome! Great work!
I totally missed this post. I think it's a very good representation of what is going on.

I'll send you some details on how the simulation works in Cell Lab so it can match precisely. I looked at your source and it looks about right :)

Cheers,
Petter

Thanks Petter. I'll be actively editing it if you change anything ^^
I just half-assed it though, and I may release a proper tool if interest grows for it.

Okay people, i just got a Skype talk with Petter, there will be a new version really soon, with proper simulation this time. Stay tuned !

Sounds great, am looking forward to it :) I've only peaked briefly at your tool, but I think it can really help understand what's going on in there ;)

Thanks Alast.
I might add other cell lab tools if there is a need for it.

So, when is soon? The link from the first post seems old.

I might make my own simulator for this, but I don't understand how nuerocytes work well enough.

Nirahiel hasn't posted/commented here since January. So not sure you should hold your breath.

Yeah, perhaps Petter can provide some details on the equations used so that someone could simulate oscillation patterns.

I thought this could be helpful. This Oscillation Visualizer uses Stemocytes to display a Neurocyte's oscillation cycle. The Neurocyte here uses 3hr preset values. You can try different presets, and the Visualizer is particularly useful for seeing the results of manual tweaks to the output values -- which tweaks work and how they change the oscillation, and which do not.

The upper Stemocyte displays S1: +S1 is green; -S1 is pink.

The lower Stemocyte displays S2: +S2 is green; -S2 is pink.
