I started to develop a system because the genomes were pilling up like crazy.
The system is "[Type of organism] - [Order] - [Name]"
The only ones that don't follow it are the Basic Swimmers that I call simply Mod 1, Mod 2, ... Mod because I called them that the first time and the basic swimmer was the first genome I actually made and saved; So I leave as a sort of symbol of the first days. "Mod" is short for "Modified".
Challenge solutions have the first term "Sol", short for "Solution". So it would be "Sol - [challenge game]"
Macrophages have a "Mph", Predators "Pr", Photosyntetic organisms Ph (although I almot never design those) and so on.
Then a two letter sorting thing so they show up in order. AA for the first one and go AB , AC... all the way to ZZ. Which limits the organisms to 676 but I don't think I'll ever reach that many genome at one time. Then a affectionate or funny or descriptive name so I can remember what organism they are.
So for example a basic smart swimmer I have it named "Mph - AE - Diamond"
For arrange, use numbers is useful. Because numbers is can arranged from 1 to ∞ So,in my opinion, you should use numbers. Example: 12 for predator. 06 for macrophages 06 _Simple_Swimmer [13th]is for 13th organism that you have created.
Two things I loved: 1.My parents,of course 2. Cell Lab
