Google might not be as clean as we thought

Post by CandyYAHFT » Fri Mar 31, 2017 6:51 pm

I have banned 7 users/bots today and deleted about 10 spam posts, and all of them where happening at the same time google bots where crawling to forum.

Maybe they got tired of clean advertising and now they spam too.

What do you think?
Just a coincidence?

Coincidence I think. I mean, I don’t think the spam bots are coming from Google. There has been a recent spike in spam. The vast majority is Russian. I don't know if there's a wsy to auto-delete posts with specified words, but that eould be good.

A while ago I looked up what that "Bing [bot]", "Google [bot]" etc thing was because I see them all the time in the forums.

Turns out there're just recollecting information about the forum so it's listed and marked to its search range. So if you look up "How Virocytes Work" in Google, and it appears this forum, it's because that Bot filed that thread with the relevant tags. So is, at least as I read it, pretty much harmless

So I agree with bwisialo, I bet the bots are a different thing. And yes, I saw that russian posts and reported them (I don't know if that does anything... good thing we have active moderatos in the forum)

Our browsing info and stuff was classified cuz they were personal but now a law was passed so google can sell the info now, so now you should be carefull about what you do on the net now.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that law apllies to using their products and services, not what they can mine from your server, that is, not third party website, right?
