Something about nutrient priority I don't understand

Post by Wilcz » Mon Jul 23, 2018 11:44 pm

So imagine this: two simple organisms. One is a gluocyte and the other is a photocyte. Gluocyte with very high nutrient priority attaches to the photocyte but instead of growing and killing (by stealing all the nutrients) the photocyte it shrinks. Why is that?

Is only one Gluocyte to one Photocyte? If so, there's something else going on with the Photocyte.

That is because the Photocyte doesn't produce enough nutrient to maintain its size. (If I didn't get your meaning wrong.)

Yeah, that might be the case.

The Glueocyte still "respects" the Prioritize setting of the Photocyte. As long as that's active in the Photocyte the Glueocyte will not steal the last bit of energy leaving the Photocyte alive.

Try unticking it for the Photocyte.
Perfection hasnt reached me yet, but its trying hard!
