You said your solution has a "certain aesthetic." Can you elaborate without spoiling it? :)

It's the way it moves through the substrate. Looks sort of calming. It probably also has to do with the color design I gave it, makes it look a little like a UFO from the distance.

Is it a swimmer floater? Perhaps a 1-2-2 (or 1-4 depending on how you count)? Mine is 1-2-2-1 (or 1-4-1).

I got mine to 400 thus far. Yeah, mine sort of hover, but more like rockets. Unlike the non-smart attempts at Desert, it's clear that 600 is just a matter of settings.

Yes, it is :-) Mine has a 2-4-(1) setup top to bottom with the 1 being the seed which also plays a role getting the right balance between rising and declining in the environment. That's why I've put it there in parentheses.

Got to 600. :) My design is the same as what I used for the Equilibrium prey and Discrimination II solution. Back to front is Stereocyte, Flagellocytes, two Buoyocytes (attached to Stereocyte and Flagellocytes, Phagocyte. I'm not sure I follow yiur description of your design. What is it?

One thing I did was give the third Lipocyte a tiny split mass, so the swimmer falls a good bit before the Buoyocytes come out. :)

I have 2 Buoyocytes at the top and then the remaining 4 cells hanging underneath in a flat diamond like my Glowbug. (I wonder if I can optimize it by applying the Glowbug 2 pattern.) The Flagellocytes oppose each other.

I'm plotting new designs ;) I should definitely be able to apply some strategies of the Glowbug 2 design for a faster development of my smart floater. Whether that's actually a good thing in this case is yet to be proven ;)

Hahahahahaha, it's possible!!! I knew it! It had to be possible!

I've created the first Smart Floater! It can swim left or right and rise or fall as a reaction to food. And I got it to even solve this challenge 8-)

Now it's time to clean up the genome. It's not symmetric yet with its 9 cells. So I want to work that out in order to make it more efficient and optically appealing.
