No, no, no. ;) I meant changing the substrate so that multiplying queen cells was much less difficult in general -- a substrate where getting a basic model solution gets you to 15 queen cells and an optimized one can get you a lot more than that.

I mean, if a challenge objective is "Reach 100 cells" and a well-designed and optimized solution gets 150, then the bar is already extremely high for the minimum solution.

Now I see :-) Yes, I agree. The thing is though that here you can get to 10 with a little trick quite easily. So that's too low. And anything higher requires work. So I think 15 is respectable.

But I agree that this one is a pretty tough challenge definitely on the very difficult end of the Very Difficult rating. It might be at a similar level as Keep the Balance.

Btw. I now got a genome that reliably makes 30+ ;-)

I also got a substrate with more light:

I think this one is the friendlier substrate.

Ahhhh, much friendlier. That's what I'm talking about. :D I got 25-30 without too much work, and an average run. I think higher numbers are definitely doable here as well. :)

I got 30 with a single drone ;-)

My drones are one-use only: they just kill themselves on the queen.

Yeah, mine only gets one run done, too. Send me your solution? :-)

Got a multi drone solution now that makes it to 50 cells :-) And it's not optimal at all! I will work on it on my flight home ;-)

Yeah, it now seems like, if you put work into it, you could develop a precise design, optimize it, and get 75, maybe 100, maybe more. Exactly what I was looking for. :)

Edit: My solution is fairly crude and simple and can get over 40 on a good run.

I agree, this second substrate is fit for sharing on youtube. We can keep the first one for the elite challenge
