Queen needs Drones II

Post by Alast » Fri Dec 30, 2016 12:25 pm

For this second drone challenge I have made slight adjustments to the substrate. Can you still feed the Queen? Even without Devorocytes? ;-)

Description: In our substrate we have a red Queen organism in the center and a ring of green Photocytes along the edge. The problem we're facing is that there are no Drones to feed the Queen. We need to create one!

Substrate: https://www.dropbox.com/s/hoir9w2gxgolh ... trate?dl=0

Objective (very difficult): Get the Queen to reproduce to 20 cells or more

Max Cells inserted: 1

Cell Type allowed: All but Photocyte, Virocyte and Devorocyte

Damn, thats a tough one also you just named it after a evil psychotic AI from resident evil :?

That's tough one. Manage to get to 40 before gluocyte scattered all around the substrate. I need to fix this, because drones sometimes stuck and waste energy because of them. Maybe need some keratin on drone and droner child?

40 is good, twice as much as required :-) What's your solution like?

My solution is a three-celled swimmer with lipo/keratin head. The middle cell is gluocyte. We don't have devourocyte here and the photocyte is selfish(stay alive). So the key is to get our cell to the sun but the photocyte is a problem. So with non-sticky head, it can penetrate and swim towards the sun before spliting another gluocyte that will attach itself to the substrate wall. Then have a lipocyte will higher nutrient priority to create some drone and another swimmer. But the problem is not all swimmer will survive before reaching the sun. If I am able to make higher chance for this swimmer to develop into a droner, then higher cell count is possible.

How about you? And is there any tips?

I don't quite understand why you want to get into the sun? You're draining energy from Photocytes that do get light?

A tip woulf be that you van get above 100 cells without Glueocytes ;-)

Phago+Secro? Maybe i'll try that.

Yeah, I drained energy from photocytes that's why i need my cell to go to the sun.

That's a good idea with the Glueocytes :-) I didn't think of that.

You already got a working solution. Kudos for trying further!

I can basically change my Devorocyte to a Glueocyte and change Nutrient priorities to get a solution.
