Yeah, I changed settings to prevent all the eggs, and it reaches 1300+. Even after my cells are gone there are just layers and layers of trapped swimmers reproducing.

Edit: Interesting. :) When they're no longer pinned and space frees up, the swimmers remain in the light because they're circiling around tons of food they can't absorb. Numbers go up further: 1450.

Oh. I thought I beta tested that. That was the 'trap'-ish solution I was trying to avoid. When I got to the part of the eggs in my solution they never split. So I said "well alright then maybe it wasn't possible after all"

I was wrong then

C'mon guys. What do I have to do to make you drop a sweat or struggle a little bit.

After that last post, you'll love this

What happened with so many swimmers gathered together gave me an idea, and it worked. :) Two mode solution to all levels using Photocytes, Secrocytes, no adhesin. It would actually make for a pretty cool video. :)

We're kind of past that point, aren't we :D Sometimes it does happen though.

Btw. I can top you ;) 2 modes only Photocytes feeding more than 500 swimmer cells :P

Yeah, difficulty is not the point. ;) I knew you'd come back with one mode, because, well, your wife is right. :P I thought it would be Glueocytes somehow.

Nono, it is 2 modes ;) One to reproduce and one to feed. But both Photocytes.

And yes, the point is creativity.

I've noticed the chain-of-eggs phenomenon with several of my solutions so far. It seems to happen when the blue swimmers are fed too quickly, and there's not enough time for nutrients to propagate to the first egg and hatch it before another one forms. I have some blue-seeking smart feeders that work around this problem pretty well, since they can nurse the eggs directly :-)

The other day this challenge crossed my mind and I thought that one mode of Photocytes should be able to create the crush of swimmers piling on themselves. Here it is. They will reach well over 500 cells.
