Tip the Balance III

Post by bwisialo » Mon Oct 19, 2015 11:33 pm

This substrate has a small range of light at the top and a gravitational effect that makes all cells fall/rise to the center.
You'll have to use the light for a delivery system that spits out the seed cells -- many, many of them -- of your contending species.
You have two species to kill off: Swimmers that gobble up the limited food, and a field of Devorocytes that lives in the center, kept alive by swimmers bumping into them.

Please don't post links to your solutions, but feel free to post hints as well as general descriptions and images of your solutions.

To attempt this challenge, you need to complete at minimum "14: Countermeasure" in Cell Lab, which gives you access to Buoyocytes (to keep afloat in the light).

Objective (Very to Extremely Difficult): Can you kill off both of these species?

Cell types allowed: All except Devorocytes

Number of Inserted Cells allowed: 1

Hints The most straightforward solution is a good Keratinocyte swimmer well-adapted to this environment. If your Keratinocyte swimmers get rid of the Devorocytes long before the orange swimmers, you'll probably not complete the challenge in a 1-on-1 competition with the orange swimmers. Tweak your Keratinocyte swimmers to eliminate the orange swimmers first. Let the Devorocytes help you eliminate them. I also have a Virocyte solution, but it's a tricky one!
Other solutions are always possible. :)

If you want to see one example of an effective delivery system, see the genome below. In this case, the seed cell for your contending species would be mode 5. This starter doesn't provide anything beyond the delivery system. :)

Wow this is a tough one. My Tip the Balance genome takes out the Devorocytes but the sw8mmers are too fertile there. Need to try more.
Perfection hasnt reached me yet, but its trying hard!

Tip: If you have a strong Keratinocyte swimmer (or your swimmer with a Devorocyte attached) use the light to create a good delivery system for your swimmers. If you continuously flood the substrate with your swimmers, they will have a much better chance against the swimmers in the challenge, just by sheer numbers.

Nope, I want to solve v3 ;) No light for me.

/edit: Nevermind, was thinking of your Tip the Balance II

From 1 cell?!?! Okay then, good luck. :) But the light is already there in TB 3, and it's there for precisely this reason -- allowing a delivery system.

Only one think could make this harder (without changing the genomes)

Ah, a slight modification of my Tip the Balance solution is doing the trick :) Lower Flagellocyte angle and faster swim rate grinds the substrate down.

Which species does your solution kill first?

And just curious... did you use the delivery system I posted or create your own?
