Wow! This is really cool! I've been trying to do the same thing myself without luck :P.

I got 1200h out of it before the last Devorocyte died. Your genome has the same problem as all my attempts. With the Keratocytes it is too strong against the predators eventually growing that much that the predators cant find enough food anymore, reduce in numbers too far and the algae can spread undisturbedly to the max cell count and take over the petri dish.

But you got me an idea!

Hmm... Did you try with different numbers of initial cells? I've had it last well over 2000 hrs. If it's killing things off it's probably too many. If you start with 1 or 2 my genome is much more likely to die than to kill the others. But it will live a long time.

I'm running it starting from 3 cells. It's made it to 6000 on the substrate timer and has no signs of dying off or killing off yet :P

I tried 2 cells as you suggested in the center. I believe you that it can last longer if things work out your way. Just wanted to let you know that this was my first result with your genome :-)

I am pretty excited right now as I might be onto something with your inspiration. First run looked promising. Now I need to balance it right and then it could work!

It had a pretty exceptional run this time. Made it to 9000 on the timer before it died.

Amazing, really want to see that
9000h, my goodness, the longest I have been was 14000h, and now just of imagine the trial and fail, it must be a lot of time, I really want that genome

Ouf, I was on a good way but then apparently took a wrong turn... But I can feel this is possible!

This what? A 3rd species that can live indefinitely with the others?
