Re: Cannibal
Nice one, it's pleasing to see the cell colors
The most annoying user in 2019, feel free to ignore
Re: Cannibal
Here's a link to what I originally did, very similar to this and it's what inspired the title.wapcaplet wrote: ↑Sat Jan 05, 2019 1:10 amI tried a simple phagocyte/devorocyte cycle that couldn't make it, but with two phagocyte cycles and one devorocyte, plus some split pattern optimization, it works quite nicely:
M1 phagocyte to M2 + M2
M2 phagocyte to M3 + M3
M3 devorocyte to M1 + M1

Fun challenge! This was the quick and easy solution, so I'll have to try some non-obvious ones.

Nice, a swimmer was going to be my next try.
Instead I wanted to try adding some light, as well as gravity--two things I wish the default substrate had. That will open up some possibilities, as a spin-off of your challenge

With this new substrate, I changed my rainbow phages to include photocytes and devorocytes:

And the same, only the last mode is a cyanide secrocyte instead of a devorocyte. It looks pretty cool in action:
