Mode Mutation Setting

Post by Pixlo8 » Tue Jan 22, 2019 7:07 pm

I notice when I am trying to evolve new creatures, it can take a long long time. Even the simplest of organisms can prove tough to create from scratch. The reason I see it is because when you allow all mutations, even with a limited number of cell types in the bank, there's still a ton of modes. I've been looking at the creatures batched from evolution and you can see that having all those modes that are unused be affected by mutation really gunks it all up. In real life this is how it is, we have a bunch of junk dna in us, but for the game I think a workaround would help. Simply being able to limit which modes mutation applies to (1-3 to make a simple swimmer for example) would most likely speed up evolution a ton.

Side note, for long batch times you could also make a computer application capable of rending the game faster, that would also be absolutely awesome.

Thanks for making my favorite app!
