Limited Telomere Survivalist

Post by 1_1 » Mon Sep 23, 2019 12:32 am

Hi! I made a swimmer optimized to survive for as long as possible on a default substrate with only 80 telomeres and no method of gaining more.

The swimmer itself isn't very impressive, but I really like the concept of making an organism last as long as possible on a limited number of telomeres. It managed to survive over 4,700 hours before going extinct.

I might try and make more organisms that survive longer in the future.
a few millennia ago, there was a mountain in the middle of lake superior. monarch butterflies still make a sharp turn east to avoid the spot where it used to be during their migration.

Location: North of the south pole, south of the north pole. Certainly on earth for all of 2000-2017.
