Re: Cultivating Coexistence – “Chaos” Substrate
I just wanted to FINALLY follow-through on sharing that I made (in 2017) a prototype interactive game inspired by the Cultivating Coexistence Challenge and inspired by a fund-raiser event, called "The Cardboard Ball," for a non-profit called FIGMENT. I wanted to make playing Cell Lab more ...

Re: Color conversion
I was trying to reverse engineer the same thing because of how the, "Logging substrate statistics to file," feature works. It's a really great idea to count the cells by color-group because and track only 27 different flavors of color instead of... what is 255 to the 3rd power... like 1.5 ...

Re: Easy Evolution
At 14,700h there are 2 genomes coexisting. 3 coexisting at 19,500h. I'll edit post to add substrate links and more text later. Umm... All images are unavailable. Is this my problem? I see images using Chrome, but unavailable in Internet Explorer. I'm probably doing something wrong. Using the wrong ...

Re: Easy Evolution
Gene Pool = Phagocyte, Flagellocyte ,Photocyte, Buoyocyte, Gleocyte and Ciliocyte Radiation level = 0.003 or 0.000 This Gene Pool and radiation level got me to achieve "Hard objective: Ecosystem niches" with 2 and 3 cells in relatively short order several times. At 14,700h (14.7kh) there a...

Re: Easy Evolution
An interesting experiment result using the challenge substrate, contamination and radiation only. A very interesting mix of cells in the genome, although, in retrospect, I don't think I actually fulfilled any of the mentioned challenge goals. Substrate: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vnvitf7tebbv3f...

Re: Environment Update
I like the idea of changing the shape of the SUBSTRATE container also. It is somewhat in-line with my suggestion to be able to add objects inside the environment. A way to insert different types of nodes that localizes different aspects of the environment such that they only work within a small radi...

Re: CSV Export Substrate and Genome
@wapcaplet I love that new logging feature, however, it only logs statistics about what is on the MICROSCOPE tab. For example, the amount of food on the MICROSCOPE and how many cells of what color-channel are present in the MICROSCOPE at the given time interval. I'm looking for information from the ...

CSV Export Substrate and Genome
One can currently save substrate and genome settings in file formats that are not human readable. I propose allowing to save substrate and genome settings in a format humans can read and use (CSV ?). This would allow players to share content via text, without exchanging a file, and would work across...

Re: Easy Evolution
Took a long break from the forum and super happy to see that my "Cultivating Coexistence" play-style has inspired this challenge. Nice once wapcaplet ! Challenge accepted! Thank you! Also, thanks for drawing my attention to the "Log substrate statistics" feature! I looked at a sa...

Environmental Nodes
A way to insert different types of nodes that localizes different aspects of the environment such that they only work within a small radius of where the node is placed on the Plate. For example: feeder - Outputs nutrient pellets at adjustable rates light source - Outputs light at adjustable intensit...
