What about adding non-nuclear mode for cells (like it is in erythrocytes)?
be more vulnerable to HCN and devorocytes (ElNico5)
not be able to react to signal substances (HumanoidX)
not be able to split, keep their function (except secrocytes, stereocytes, neurocytes, gametes, virocytes and senseocytes)
consume less energy
The cells in the photo scare me
The non-nuclear cells would: Non-nuclear cells
Non-nuclear cells

Re: Non-nuclear cells
Good idea...
I think non nuclear cell can not use signal substance dependence.

Re: Non-nuclear cells
This is a great idea, maybe non nuclear cells also should be weake, ie. They decay faster when touched by devorocytes, they decay faster when exposed to HCN, softer (less cytoskeleton) and so on

Re: Non-nuclear cells
good idea about vulnerablity to devorocytes and HCN.
but to my mind the cytoskeleton hardly depends on nuclear. (maybe i am wrong)
Re: Non-nuclear cells
Guys, how about bacteria or procaryote mode?I think about smaller cells, that can have more functiones.Like bacteria that have both flagell and chloroplastes?Like hybrid of photocyte and flagellocyte.Remember cyanobacterias*

Prokaryotes won't happen so don't even try.
