(Sorry if this isn't proper etiquette. I read all the rules I saw.)
Description: Try to survive a string of cells coming up from the bottom of the dish.
Substrate: https://www.dropbox.com/s/kr2ucad8ql1j8 ... trate?dl=0
Objective (Difficult?): Keep at least 300 of your cells alive for 100 hours. Keep at least part of the string alive as well. If all cells from the string are dead, you lose.
Max Cells inserted: 1
Cell Types not allowed: Photocyte, Virocyte
Additional Notes: The string appears to disappear after about 400 hours or so. I don't know why. You can use Virocytes, but only if they do not in any way infect the string.
I have completed this challenge. I'm unsure if I did the poll correctly. Discussion about substrate and uploading solutions are ok by me. I believe that is all that I need to say.
Slow Death
Re: Slow Death
Very cool idea! And, yes, you did a great job with the format.
A basic Keratinocyte swimmer has no problem completing this. So, you may want to add Keratinocytes to the list of cells not allowed.
A slowly turning swimmer -- without changing Split masses or other settings -- also does fine. So, you may want to change the Nutrient settings.
If a cell doesn't split to create new cells, the cell will die in about 400h even if it's getting lots of nutrients. Old age

Re: Slow Death
I've almost made it to 2700 cells including the string with a basic swimmer
Secret is to wait a moment ane place your initial cell BEHIND the string at the bottom of the substrate once the string has lifted a bit.

Perfection hasnt reached me yet, but its trying hard!
Re: Slow Death
New rule: you have to place your initial cell before running the substrate.Alast wrote:I've almost made it to 2700 cells including the string with a basic swimmerSecret is to wait a moment ane place your initial cell BEHIND the string at the bottom of the substrate once the string has lifted a bit.

Initial cell placed before running the substrate and made it to 3370
